    • Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific (Hong Kong)

      Jan 1990 - Jan 1995
Director Sales & Marketing, Distributors and Resellers

HP in the 90's was a great company... full of hard working business people and a culture that was still firmly grounded in the HP Way from Bill Hewlett & Dave Packard. For 5 years I managed HP's network of resellers throughout Asia, including the country distributors where HP did not have a direct presence. The growth in the business was significant as well as my own professional and personal growth.

    • Tandem Computers (Asia Pacific)

      Jan 1995 - Jan 1997
Asia Pacific, VP & General Manager (purchased by Compaq Computer, 1997)

As the head of Tandem Asia Pacific, I was responsible for Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations and the division's P&L. For the ten years that I spent living and working throughout Asia I learned how to effectively work and do business in each of the 14 unique country countries. Cultural values of respect, relationships, win-win business and the spirit and trust behind a business deal are fundamentals and the conditions of success.

    • Compaq Canada

      Dec 1997 - Jun 2000
      President & Managing Director

My responsibilities as CEO included all sales, finances, operations, legal, HR and strategy. During my tenure, Compaq’s revenue grew from $1.1B to $1.8B. But my main accomplishment was overseeing the merger of Tandem Computer, Digital Equipment Canada, and Compaq growing from 1000 to 3500 people - one of the largest mergers in Canada. It taught me invaluable lessons in leadership... driving strategy, ensuring effective structure and motivating people. It also taught me the three necessary criteria of a successful M&A: 1) The right strategy, 2) effective merger execution and 3) achieving one culture. Show less

    • Oak Bay Marine Group

      Jun 2014 - Apr 2015
      CEO

I enjoyed the opportunity to work as a CEO in the hospitality and tourism industry with the Oak Bay Marine Group. Although I was only there for just under a year, I initiated a number of positive changes in operations, sales, marketing, revenue enhancement, etc., while completing a strategic analysis of the business. Revenues and EBITDA increased YOY under my tenure. It was my recommendation that the CEO position was more suited to a COO role and the right person was promoted from within and I retired from the company. Show less
