    • University of alberta

      Nov 2016 - May 2022

In this role, I managed communications for UAlberta Library, providing all nine unit libraries with strategic communication services within a complex university environment. This included media relations, campus engagement, as well as developing foundational resources and processes for communications in a decentralized environment. Highlights of my achievements include:- Developed in collaboration and led the roll-out of various specific communication plans regarding crisis situations, location closures, social media, as well as special projects, events, or units with special considerations. - Spearheaded the development of a new branding system for the UAlberta Library organization and sub-brand for the Digital Scholarship Centre; both brand systems highlight the Library’s own unique culture and voice and are strategically aligned with the University of Alberta’s institutional branding.- Chair and member of several committees revolving around communications, operations, engagement, web presence, and DEI. I worked closely with a diverse group of stakeholders, building relationships with staff at all levels of the organization.- Managed a team coordinating social media channels engaging with over 6,000 followers.- Proactively researched, created and implemented a centralization strategy for seven localized social media channels of unit libraries. This required analysis of user engagement data, providing executive recommendations, and co-operating and leading change management with the different stakeholders. The resulting outcome led to increased security, reduced administration costs, increased engagement and more consistent messaging.- Involved in creating foundational communications collateral for the Library’s fundraising campaign such as key messages, print materials, and a new web presence.
