The title of my thesis was "Tropical Dry Forest Leaf Composition and Hyperspectral Reflectance".

      I worked in a project that search the impact of a forest fire in a dry forest to create new management techniques to help the conservation and preservation of the forest called “Initial effects and responses to novel fire occurrence in tropical dry forest” in the Guanica dry forest and Guayanilla, PR. My work consist in the collection and analysis of data to identify the impact and the regeneration of the burn forest using a soil probes to determinate the fertility of the soil with Dr. Skip Van Bloem Mostrar menos I worked in a plant breeding project that have as main goal to create new beans lines that possess resistance to beans weevil called “Marked-assisted selection of bean lines for disease resistance” in the Agricultural Experiment Station at Isabela, PR.       I Assisted the USDA-APHIS Entomologist Identifiers in the pre-processing of routine, urgent interceptions and identifying all the insect samples that was intercepted by the PPQ official. I assisted an entomologist at the sample processing and conservation of potential invasive pest. I assisted a PPQ official in the seed and fruit inspection, Airport baggage inspection and learned how to allow legitimate international and interstate trade while preventing the introduction of invasive plant pests. I manage the following projects: Reduce detrimental edge effects in the habitat of the elfin woods warbler (Setophaga angelae)(bird survey and habitat condition investigation), The coffee under shadow program, The restoration project for the yellow shouldered blackbird (Angelaiux xanthomus) and the Puerto Rican nightjar (Antrostomus noctitherus) (bird survey and compiling biological data) with FWS.       My work consist of helping people protect their land. I provide technical and financial assistance to producers that are interested in protecting and/or improve their land. As NRCS we provide multiple options that the producer can pick to address their resource concerns. I am currently working in Utuado, Puerto Rico were we have a diverse crop system that specialise in coffee production. As an Agronomist and Forest ecologist I will be helping farmers create a balance in their farms where they can improve their crops and soils, at the same time that they can create habitat for wildlife species.
