      Champion's Sports Bar & Grill was my first job and introduction to the hospitality industry. During the pandemic, Champions found itself with no employees and facing adversity just like much of the world at that time. I was asked to step in and I had to learn fast. Collaborating with my parents not only strengthened our bond but also significantly improved the restaurant, as we were always on the same page. Throughout this experience, I acquired skills such as cooking, employee scheduling, and training. Gaining proficiency in these areas at the age of 17 positioned me for success in the future.       During the summer, I spend my free time coaching youth softball, a newfound passion of mine. I have served as a head coach of a 14u softball team for the past 3 years. I have loved witnessing them grow and develop in and outside of the field. As for tasks, I plan, organize, and conduct practices. During the season, I set lineups, batting orders, and strategies for games. As the head coach, your responsibilities extend beyond what happens on the field. I have the responsibility of communicating with parents and other coaches, ensuring equal playing time, and being a role model to the girls.       At Frank's Press Box, I spent significant time in the kitchen, where I cooked and prepared customer orders. This also involved food preparation as needed. During closing time, I cleaned all the dishes and contributed to the establishment's cleanliness. Given the demands of summertime, I was always on call and available if needed. I also shadowed the General Manager and expanded my understanding of kitchen operations.

      Nico's Pub & Grill is a new restaurant. Last January, I played a crucial role in preparing for the grand opening. I crafted the menu, established prices, and made adjustments to the computer system in the office. Due to low staffing, I spend most of my time cooking, shadowing the owner, and occasionally bartending when needed. As the assistant manager, this role has presented growth opportunities. I have been learning essential tasks such as stock ordering and till reconciliation. Learning how to complete these tasks contributes to the daily operations of the restaurant while expanding my skill set and knowledge of how to run a small business. The entire process of opening Nico's Pub & Grill not only allowed me to contribute to its opening but also provided me with valuable insight and skills that extend beyond the industry. Show less
