  I worked as an intern at the EducationUSA office housed at the US Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. My tasks included advising prospective students on college application to schools in the U.S. and Canada, assisting with general office work and holding talks with high school students on college application. As part of the advising team, I helped 28 students gain admittance to US and Canadian universities. I was part of a 20 student EducationUSA cohort in Nairobi, Kenya. As part of the cohort, I was exposed to various college application resources and guided throughout the college application process.

  Supported Professor Pearl Robinson’s research efforts on the intellectual biography of Ralph Bunche, Ph.D, managing and visualizing data from ten archival repositories, and generated weekly research reports.Nominated to be the first ever recipient of the Tufts University Political Science Research Grant. Conducted research on the proposed East African Federation, across four sites in Kenya, managing aspects of the research process; participant recruitment, data management and data visualization, presenting research as part of a shortlisted group at the Tufts Student Symposium. Successfully published research findings in the Tufts MERG research journal, Insights.

  Vunja Kimya Foudation is an International Non- Governmental Organization, that works collaboratively with all stakeholders in formulation of innovative, practical and sustainable solutions in eliminating Sexual and Gender Based Violence.Vunja Kimya Foundation is working to offer specialized forensic medical legal services, the first of its kind in Kenya, to empower medical, legal and police professionals in implementing winning strategies to combat SGBV in Kenya.I worked as a policy development assistant at Vunja Kimya in Nairobi, Kenya. I helped develop policy, write funding proposals and helped develop economic strategy. I also helped organize a fundraising drive for Wings of Hope Rescue Home, a charitable children home involved with the rescue of teenage victims of sexual violence. Show less

  Organized the year's curriculum with a critical focus on political, economic, social and cultural topics in the Middle East and North Africa. Implemented the curriculum with a focus on the US Withdrawal from Syria, political happenings in Iran and Iraq, as well as the post-Arab Spring governments of Libya and Egypt. Successfully curated discussion topics that were highly relevant and critical in world debate, translating in a 80% increase in weekly meeting attendance. Handled the attendance of 4 academic and field experts, from invitation to onboarding, for the club's panel and symposium panelists.
