My research projects primarily focus on the study of the dynamics of nanoparticles( gold nanospheres and rods, silica and polystyrene nanoparticles) inside various polymer and biopolymer solutions such as Polyethylene glycol(PEO), Polyvinyl alcohol(PVA), Bovine serum albumin(BSA). This information is important in many fields, including bacterial motion, motor protein transport, and in medicine, in the field of drug delivery. Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are also useful in photovoltaics, sensors and drug delivery. Research methods used:1. Differential Dynamic Microscopy: Bright-field microscope, Dark-field microscope, Fluorescent microscope, Confocal microscope2. Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy: High power 800 nm laser source ( Ti: sapphire femtosecond pulsed laser )Other techniques used:Uv-Vis Spectroscopy, Langmuir Blodgett Troughs for thin film deposition and ellipsometry, Falling ball viscometer, Rheometer, Temperature controller cell, Syringe Pump for flow experiments Show less Associated Term: Spring/Summer 2018Schedule Type: Combined Lab/Lecture Instructional Method: TraditionalSubject: Physics Course Number: 2170 Title: University Physics Scientists1Credit Hours: 4Course Description: For students specializing in physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics or engineering.
