      Designed and installed electronic and mechanical Burglary, Fire, and Communications systems. These systems were used in single and multiple family homes and small business through multi-story high-rise and office buildings. Chief trouble shooter and repair technician for the entire organization. Operated and commanded the repair department.

      The technical go-to person concerning all aspects of computer, networking, IT, electronic, electrical, communication, and mechanical systems.Repaired and maintained all the Museum's technical systems, and the design, development, and implementation of the technical, IT, and computer systems in the new 73,000 square foot Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum building built in 1999. This included integrated phone and data wiring, the phone system (Nortel Merdian 11C PBX) , security CCTV camera and recorder system, and power/lighting. My other duties included: Overseeing the technical and mechanical health of the Nature Museum infrastructure and making repairs while also maintaining my duties as Technical Operations and Facilities Manager. I hired and trained members of our IT department in repair and maintenance of the Museum's computer systems and networks, a large part of which I designed and installed for the new building. I supervised a facilities crew of 6 workers who saw to the needs of the facility and the Museum Staff. As the Construction Manager and contractor liaison I managed construction and renovation projects. I also assisted other Museum departments, such as Operations and Visitor Services, and notably the Exhibits department, in maintaining electrical and mechanical systems to maintain the visitor experience. My long history at the Museum has found me involved in many of the Museum's departments. I have performed the functions of: Computer programmer/repair/consultant, Electronics design and production, Network (local and Internet; Exhibits construction/design/maintenance, and a host of other technical functions.       Assisted in the move of this industry leader in software and quality assurance testing from their old facility to their new building. This involved both planning for and physical relocation of a multitude of server systems and network infrastructure. I was also contracted to reprogram, maintain, and provide feature upgrades for their VoIP telephone system.
