My position involved writing blog posts, updating social media and laying out articles. I also had the opportunity to attend the Cardiff RHS Flower Show 2019 on their behalf, in order to review one of the exhibitors and take photographs.

  I secured this position by accessing the GO Wales programme offered by my university, which initially involved me shadowing employees within the production office and attending pre-production meetings with HOD’s. However, through professional relationships and friendships that I built, I further organised training for myself in filming that was taking place in the Summer, as well as being asked to be part of the team to plan and organise the premiere and awards event that took place after filming. This involved me producing media: email templates; a sponsorship plan; social media schedule; posters; signs. I liaised with colleagues, the venue provider and businesses with regards to sponsorship, amongst other relevant contacts. The annual event is attended not only by trainees, their family, friends and department mentors, but also A-list celebrities and industry professionals. On the night, I greeted guests and worked with the team to ensure everything ran smoothly - I even stayed behind at the end to clean up, before celebrating everyone’s hard work and achievements myself.
