As Executive Assistant I worked directly with the County Administrator and Systems Administrator in accordance with the wishes of the Grant County Commissioners. I was a daily participant of ensuring the successful running of the day to day, while also working on a number of key important projects.I assisted in rewriting the Grant County Handbook, as well successfully negotiating and implementing a new copier contract that stream lined the entire county's operations while saving them a significant amount of money.       Oversaw and directed all aspects of economic development, community development, and Business Retention and Expansion efforts for the City of Marion. This included overseeing the management of all city-owned property, the acquisition of foreclosed properties, the maintenance of the Neighborhood Association program, creation and oversight of city marketing efforts, and community events. Drafted, submitted, and assisted to secure multiple private, local, state, and federal grants, resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars awarded to the city. As Director of Development Services my greatest responsibility was to companies, both small and large, as they navigated the challenges faced in today’s economy, helping to connect them to resources and tools essential to make the best decisions for their company, by choosing Marion and Grant County. Additionally, I serve in a role as senior advisor for the City of Marion. Show less Responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of a $22 million budget that included 230+ employees, 11 departments, and 4 union contracts in a manner that complimented each other through strategic, coordinated collaboration. Created and maintained city social media presence, with eight different social media outlets, the largest having a following of over 7000. Led department directors to ensure that all departments were executing their missions effectively and that it accomplished the mission and vision of the organization. These efforts led to savings of millions of dollars to the city budget and securing millions of outside dollars all while still providing the highest level of service. During this time, Site Selection Magazine ranked the City of Marion ninth in the nation twice for Economic Development among Micro Cities, the Standard and Poor bond rating improved from a BBB- to a A-, a three-step improvement, and the Insurance Service Office rating improved from a five to a four, an improvement that provides businesses and homeowners a cost-savings to insurance premiums.
