Activities and Societies: Larch Spinney Project Agroforestry Project. We are currently involved in several projects on the Brooksby Estate. The Larch Spinney clearance project.Larch Spinney is a small woodland that has been neglected, in the past it was used as a habitat for game birds. We have begun to clear the old Larch trees and have started planning and preparing the habitat for Pheasants. The Brooksby Estate aim to host Game Shoots.The other major project we are involved with is an Agroforestry project On Hall Farm. This is the Brooksby Estate farm which is a traditional farm with industrial methods. The aim of the project is to reduce impacts on the land (Herbicides, Fungicides and Pesticides) by introducing biodiversity. By planting a variety of Nitrogen fixing crops and trees, high pollinating borders that will attract bee's and butterflies as well as establishing a predator prey dynamic for insect pest.
