  Anthony Christie is the IT Manager at Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) for the Chief Mechanical Engineers department (CME), where he manages the On-Board Passenger WIFI and the CME internal IT requirements. in this new role Anthony will keep up to date with developing and emerging trends or technology likely to be of interest to the CME department and make CME management & colleagues aware of these developments. Be Responsible for provision of support to all colleagues in the CME department in relation to all aspects of IT equipment. This includes acting as the interface concerning the provision of hardware, software and training or assistance with all IT related issues.Anthony will provide a strategic level of interface for the CME department with other departments on issues relating to technology and IT, including but not limited to:Implementation of IT related projects as required to support the CME business needs. Provide specialist advice and assistance with the tender process for goods, services or systems Anthony has over 30 years’ experience in the IT industry having worked with AIB Bank, Ark life Insurances as Service desk manager, and over 20 years working on transport systems. Anthony worked at CIE as a senior network administrator for all the transport companies in Ireland including Dublin bus, Bus Éireann and CIE tours. Anthony then moved to the subsidiary Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) to take charge of the systems on the new fleets of trains, here he used his expertise in IT to help write the new specifications for new WIFI seat reservation systems for the fleets, this then followed on for the passenger WIFI systems on the fleets. Anthony is responsible for the delivery of all WIFI related products for Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail), including the new passenger WIFI system tender awarded in January 2019.I am a keen cyclist I also enjoy other sports and am involved In the juvenile coaching at my club, Moorefield GAA .
