  During my 3mo internship, I worked in a team on building a distributed computing project around a financial risk compute engine with the goal of accelerating the compute performance.The project included building and containerizing a new multi-module Java app that takes different Trade input data (such as FxSwap, Bond, etc...) along with market data (currency and index rates and other variables) and feed the processed input to the database.Another module is responsible for orchestrating the C++ compute engine nodes.In order to build a test pipeline for benchmarking I also created a Trade Generator module that can generate trades on demand with reproducible results.The project passed through several phases, entertaining a distributed in-memory cache datagrid tying the different nodes of the solution, and then implementing a centralized database using PostgreSQL.The process involved writing many Dockerfiles to containerize the Java app, the database with custom modifications, and the compute engines. I also had to get used to CMakeLists and building projects with cmake.Additionally, most of my work was done in a Linux environment, reinforcing my shell skills.Working in a team on different codes, I had the opportunity to improve my Git skills.
