  I teach a Student Leadership Practice Experience course designed to provide a structured classroom experience to accompany practical leadership on campus. Through practical and classroom experience, students will focus on applying leadership concepts to practice, engage in reflection, and develop their leadership capabilities. Students will explore and experience collaborative leadership within the Student Support Services program through class discussions.   As a Program Consultant for TRiO Student Support Services, I provide enrollment strategies to enhance program participant recruitment, retention, and graduation rates--along with achieving organizational effectiveness, improving student outcomes, implementing new technologies, and aligning resources and investments to ensure long-term sustainability. Additionally, I develop the organization's succession plan, which includes management of Tutors, Mentors, Student Leaders, and Faculty members. Lastly, I design training modules that are pertinent to the experiences of first-generation, low-income, and traditionally underrepresented students at USD. The training modules are approved by College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) utilizing various learning methods such as instructor lead (both synchronous and asynchronous), e-learning, and simulations. Show less TRiO- Student Support Services at the University of San Diego is a federally funded program tasked to holistically support 450+ undergraduate students who identify as first-generation, low-income, underrepresented, and with a documented disability. I recruit, hire, and onboard five professional staff members, 18 mentors, nine student assistants, 12 tutors, and five faculty members during our annual Summer Bridge program. Since I began my role in 2013, I have enhanced the visibility of our program and have increased its budget through university-wide collaborations. I strategically established a partnership with our Associated Students (AS). Through this partnership, I secured an additional $40,000 to host meaningful activities for the 400 students active in the TRIO Student Support Services program. Additionally, I continue to achieve a participant retention rate of 94%—significantly higher than the university’s retention rate of 87%. Show less
