  Trainee Quantity Surveyor

  Employed as a full time Trainee Quantity Surveyor while completing a BTEC National Certificate in Building Studies from Leeds Collage of Building on one day and one evening per week. I was involved in the measurement, estimation and production of bills of quantities and project costs for a range of projects from new schools, sports centres to large scale residential developments. I also gained experience in project management and building surveying.

  Full time employment during University vacations. Employed as a Land Surveyor and Assistant Geologist. Projects work involved: - topographical site surveys for active quarries, landfill operations, new build schemes, redevelopment sites and residential properties. Production of building condition surveys, soak away design specification as well as phase one desk studies and geological investigation reports in line with BS5930.

  Employed as a Senior Geologist for the the provision of Geological Services and expert advice to operational sites within the C&W Region, including management of company mineral reserves and resources and implementation of national and regional mineral strategies as well as quarry operational design and mining engineering, ensuring the maximisation of performance and financial return of the company’s significant land and mineral assets.
