  Ph.D. in Biochemistry completed September 2023. Research conduced in the Judith Simcox Lab in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.In the Simcox lab, I led and contributed to several research projects. I operated and maintained two Agilent Infinity II 1290 HPLCs coupled to a 6546 QTOF mass spec, and a 6495c QQQ mass spectrometer for targeted and untargeted lipidomic analyses of mammalian tissue. I developed data processing and analysis pipelines using Agilent softwares and the R programming language. Using insights from large scale lipidomics, I investigated the biological regulation and mechanisms of hepatic lipid metabolism through a combination of biochemistry and molecular biology. I was particularly focused on the role of lysosomes in lipid metabolism during cold stress.In another project, I used lipidomics and machine learning based regression models to identify novel biomarkers of CVD and the metabolic syndrome. I was also part of several collaborations investigating the role of lipids in a range of contexts including dermal adipose stress, intestinal metabolism, and various murine dietary models. Show less
