      Jan 2005 - Jan 2008
      Controls Engineer

Lead Engineer in charge of implementation of Trend BMS for such clients as Blackrock and Galway private clinics and Henkel Loctite. This involved control of HVAC systems and monitoring of utility usage.I have managed and trained numerous team members on engineering software and BMS and provided constant engineering assistance to both my peers and clients. This necessitated knowledge of IP addressing, DNS, DCHP servers and VLANs.Restored BMS network integrity for St James Public Hospital after system wide failure to allow theatres to reopen.Recovered critical ventilation and cooling system for Colt Telecom as part of an out of hours emergency call out. This required the reinstallation of essential software and testing the functionality of recovered system. I made preventative recommendations to the Chief Engineer which were implemented.I was subcontracted by Philips Lighting Ltd as a commissioning engineer. I commissioned automated lighting control systems and verified that electrical installations were sound and that programs were written correctly to maximise energy efficiency. I liaised directly with on-site electrical contractors and provided technical hands-on expertise. On a regular basis I carried out maintenance checks and verifications on clients' controls and systems. This was mainly in the fields of public and private hospitals, large manufacturing companies such as Bristol Myers Squibb, IT and Financial Services companies such as Data Electronics, Commerzbank and the hotel industry such as The Westin and The Merrion.I am capable of multi-tasking several clients' requirements. I have prepared management level reports outlining performance improvement observations for clients' controls, BMS and systems as well as calibration certificates in accordance with Good Automation and Manufacturing Practices (GAMP). I surveyed the commissioning of all mechanical and electrical systems and fit out of two new ACC branches. I produced a snag list for the client, advised on practical completion and sign off on final payment. I also proposed the replacement of the main boilers in ACC HQ with more energy efficient and scalable models. I was recently charged with redesigning the HVAC system for a comms room in Accenture and also replacing the existing HVAC for a comms room in Xerox due to the incoming R22 regulations.I present regular update briefings to sub contractors, facilities and operations managers. Nov 2009 - Nov 2014
      IT Manager

I am ultimately responsible for all IT and Automated systems in the stadium. Systems include data LAN, firewalls, wireless network, CCTV cameras and back-end servers, access control, SCADA (Power control and Lighting control), turnstile entrance system, PAVA, AV, TV broadcast networks, big screens, BMS, IPTV, office corporate network and special works for concerts/ events.I came to Aviva Stadium 6 months before completion, and as such, gained knowledge of specific installation practices and commissioning details usually only understood by commissioning engineers.I worked closely with the electrical and mechanical subcontractors to fully understand all systems and provide client feedback where required to fulfill our needs.During the recent Europa League final I was tasked to create a dedicated fibre network infrastructure for Getty Images to handle high density FTP traffic. This involved coordination of fibre contractors, electricians and firewall configurations.I liaised with the Naval Academy in America regarding their needs for the Navy/ Notre Dame American football game. This entailed TV camera position modifications, big screen configuration, RF coordination, coaches' booth and announce booth builds, foreign media interaction and ticket manifest redesigns.I work closely with Sales and contracted AV companies to provide the necessary AV/ IT requirements for small to large (2 - 25,000 px) events.I recently migrated our voice service to a fully VOIP solution providing savings of approx €30,000 pa. I also developed a new BMS strategy to allow more control of our individual plant. This has resulted in significant savings in energy costs and maintenance (23% electrical, 12% gas - 30% total savings approx €500,000).With previous year's concerts I worked with the artist's sound engineers to allow a tie-in to the stadium PA for fil- sound to the high level seats. I was required to program the delay and gain levels for several dozen speaker clusters. Show less
