      Jul 2021 - Sept 2021
      Volunteer | Building Community Interventions

Thapasu Foods is a value chain creator and integrator for indigenous produces, working with the local communities, currently in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka. At the community level, Thapasu enhances the livelihoods of farmers who grow native farm produce, promotes the sustainable cultivation and harvest of wild produces that are native to the region by creating and integrating a sustainable supply chain. Thapasu facilitates skill development and technology transfers at the supply end of the value chain while creating awareness and transparency of the source of food at the consumer end. Thapasu revives and promotes native wild and farm produces and traditional, chemical-free farming methods. At Thapasu, I worked on community interventions and aligning them with an Impact Roadmap, which is designed to create impact in 3 key areas- people, planet, profits. From mapping SDGs to the goals of Thapasu to designing CBT Frameworks, I enjoyed the process of unlearning and learning various aspects of working in the social development sector. Well, with that, living the rustic life of a mountain village amidst the apple orchards, the valley blanketed with pine trees and with the cows those go on a vacation ;) Show less

Manager | Impact Partnerships and Special Projects

Rang De is a P2P lending platform working towards financial inclusion, empowering the livelihoods of the marginalized communities of the country. We lend to these communities through partners who are engaged with them in livelihood interventions and I was part of the team exploring and on-boarding such impact partners from across the country. I also worked on special projects, that are designed for the needs of the community, creating impact in scale. Rang De helped me witness the importance and impact of credit for small; rural businesses, the need to understand the dynamics of financial habits/behaviour of the communities while designing livelihood interventions, the power of investing in micro entrepreneurs and keeping the whole process humble, dignified and inclusive, because every borrower deserves it:) Show less

    • Himalayan Ark

      Apr 2023 - Dec 2023
Social Consultant | Community- based Tourism and Conservation

Project: Sustainable Tourism for Migration Affected and Border Villages of Uttarkashi and Chamoli Districts of Uttarakhand. Worked on developing a Feasibility Report and Detailed Project Report.Worked with Himalayan Ark- Sarmoli for Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board. Himalayan Ark is a community-led tourism initiative based in a small mountain village -Sarmoli in Kumaoni Uttarakhand. The organization was founded by Malika Virdi, one of the pioneers in building CBT in India. The model of Himalayan Ark is certainly an exemplar of grassroots-level intervention to uplift the livelihoods of rural communities through equitable tourism while conserving their land, water, and forests and promoting cultural heritage. I worked closely with the local team of the organisation, and with the community, understanding how village-level initiatives can create an influence in the larger sector. It was one of the best exchanges I have ever had, both professionally and personally! Working with one of the strongest bunch of women, in one of the dynamic himalayan village, has deepened my perspectives of working with rural communities, especially women!
