  Founded in 2017 by Carlos Polachini Zanoveli Junior and Ivan Bruno Nóbile Dias, Polachini & Nobile was a retail trading company based in Londrina-PR. The company was focused on e-commerce and had two websites: PN Auto (auto parts) and Emporio Nóbile (upscale consumer items)Activities• Management, negotiation and strategic planning of topics related to the company's daily life• Maintenance of registration and inventory management of the products on the websites (both hosted at Loja Integrada platform) and marketplaces (B2W, Mercado Livre and OLX);• Technical support and customer relationship.All the activities I did were in my spare time, as at the same time I had a job in the IT area. As this was my first experience as an entrepreneur, I had difficulties reconciling my administrative and strategic vision with that of my partner.   Brazilian startup that manages a platform that connects customers with partner supermarkets through geolocation, allowing personalized online purchases and delivery in up to two hours or at a scheduled time.Activities:• Implementation and maintenance of features on mobile and website platforms;• Cross-Platform Full-Stack Developer (Android and Web);• Support to the Operations team.Projects:• Dashboards and monitoring processes for Operations team;• Roteirizador: Delivery routes automator, based on shoppers (self employed workers responsible for shopping in the supermarkets) work schedules, order delivery schedule (each order had a 2-hour window to be delivered) and traffic (route optimization by consuming an API provided by MapLink).Supermercado Now introduced me to the startup ecosystem, which strengthened my dream of becoming an entrepreneur. The practicality with which problems were resolved gave a completely different dynamic to the more traditional management model, which helped me lay the foundations for what would later become Se Doar. At that time, I was halfway through my MBA in Project Management, and the company culture was strongly encouraging agile, collaboration and knowledge exchange, so it seemed like a natural step, as I could apply everything I learned over the last years. In fact, it was such a successful choice that it generated excess of confidence in me, which culminated in my decision to dive head first into entrepreneurship and the startup ecosystem, however my expectations were frustrated by the COVID-19 pandemic.   The NGO Se Doar was a philanthropic initiative that, through a free online platform, aimed to bring NGOs, institutions and social projects together with companies and people interested in contributing to their projects, with donations of money, clothes, food or voluntary work.Activities:• Founder and president elected for two elections;• Responsible for all bureaucratic aspects of the NGO with government bodies, in order to meet all legal requirements;• Management of a team of approximately 20 volunteers, with a multidisciplinary profile, divided into five squads: Content (responsible for generating content, both on the website and on social media), Governance and Planning (responsible for supporting the planning of Se Doar, to ensure compliance with its mission, vision and values), People (responsible for coordinating the admission of new volunteers, as well as ensuring their proper training and adaptation to team tasks), Platform (responsible for maintaining the platform, as well such as the development of new functionalities) and Relationship (responsible for relationships with users, entities and partners);• Strategic planning, leadership, risk management;• Monthly meetings to report the income statement and activities of the NGO;• Biweekly meetings with the squads to support the ongoing activities, participating in them directly whenever necessary.In March 2024, for health reasons and not finding anyone willing to take on the position of president to continue the project, I had to close its activities, with the approval of the members of the executive management and volunteers present. It was a very difficult decision, but after a few years, my body and mind were no longer able to reconcile the responsibilities of managing an NGO with the routine of working in the IT area. Emphasis on the main AWS technologies for working in the serverless model. Use of micro-services, RESTful APIs and documentation in the OAS model (OpenAPI), to facilitate partner integration.Working on this project gave me the opportunity to have contact with the financial segment, which completely changed my view on management and entrepreneurship: cutting-edge technology, dynamism, complex challenges, new growth opportunities in all aspects, a strong learning culture and collaboration, etc. After six months of the project, I was offered the opportunity to become an internal employee at BTG Pactual, which I decided to accept, because I was eager for more knowledge in this sector. Responsible for Billing, Reconciliation, Sending of Financial Statements and Automatic Reports, Data Warehouse and Cost Reduction functionalities. Support to teams responsible for other existing functionalities, such as Open Finance, Pix, FX, Depositary Bank, Escrow, Paymentslips, TEDs/TEFs, Monitoring Dashboards and KPIs, Developer Portal, Administrative Portal, etc. Support to the Operations team. Support in training new developers.The main component of success, both for BaaS and for BTG as a whole, is the strong organizational culture: agility, customer focus, excellence, autonomy, long-term vision, integrity, responsibility, simplicity, non-conformity, dedication and acknowledgment. From the selection process and improvement courses to performance evaluations, everything is carefully planned around this aspect. Even after years of working here, it still amazes me how such a large company can be so agile and, at the same time, so solid.
