That Liberal Arts approach has made me a lifelong learner.Learned first hand in visits to public and private schools in London and southwest England the "new" techniques developed by The British Infant (pre-schools in the US) Schools. Those Early Childhood techniques are now ubiquitous in US pre-schools: journaling, centers, invented spelling, cozy corners, rocking chairs. Even better was to be hired by a progressive US suburban principal who believed that her entire staff should use these techniques when other administrators in the US were skeptical. Today almost all early childhood programs in the US teach language arts this way. Show less

Trouble shoot, counsel, mentor, coach, instruct students seeking primary grade education certification regarding classroom style and management. As the majority of the students' classes have been online, these final clinical experiences might be the first time that he or she has been closely mentored/monitored by an actual professional human being.Kendall College has been ranked as the most ethnically diverse liberal arts college in the Midwest by U.S. News and World Report's 2013 Edition of Best Colleges. This ranking was based on the fact that 23% of Kendall's students during 2011-2012 were African-American. Although I do not speak Spanish fluently I also supervise some of the teaching candidates in the ESL certification program. Good teaching techniques stay constant no matter what language is used.
