  Started as a Management Trainee and progressed over the years to becoming an Executive Director, with the premier commercial printing establishment started by my family in the mid-1950s. I left the company in 1995 to pursue my own venture and start my own business. Established as a small letter-press printer, Vakils grew to be the only printing company in Mumbai, in the 1960s, that had all facilities from conceptualizing, designing to multi-color offset printing and finishing, all under one roof. Vakils was the first company in India to popularize the concept of Greeting Cards. It developed and manufactured a wide range of cards for all occasions as well as gift wrappers, social stationery, calendars & posters. With its large distributor network, Vakils became a household name from the smallest of towns to metros across the subcontinent. These products were well accepted in major countries in Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East. Vakils continued bagging major contracts in the United States as well as books for the Jawaharlal Nehru Foundation. It created another niche by becoming ‘Annual Report’ specialists.Vakils played a key role in initiating and forming the Bombay Master Printers Association as well as the All India Federation Of Master Printers bringing about a cohesion in the printing industry in its representation to the Government. The pride of Vakils was its continuously winning the maximum number of National Awards for Excellence in Printing year after year - the total reaching more than 100. International Awards were also added to its collection. Commercial printing activities included: Annual Reports, Books, Magazines, Corporate Brochures, Calendars, Invitation Cards, Leaflets & Folders. Besides designing and multi-color letterpress & offset printing, in-house expertise included screen printing, foil stamping, embossing & punching, numbering, thermography, bookbinding, saddle stitching, processing & color separation and typesetting.   Established Nish Services, a proprietor firm undertaking services from conceptualizing, copy writing, designing and printing of high quality Corporate Brochures, calendars, cards, posters, presentation articles, sales promotional folders and leaflets, packaging material as well as web page designing. My experience of 15 years with Vakils and the printing industry has greatly helped me in sourcing out the best within the industry and giving clients what they want without compromising on quality and yet being cost effective.   Director

  Partnered and incorporated Smart Ensemble Private Limited involved in producing motivational and training material for human resource development. I am responsible for Product Development and Marketing. Economic reforms in India and opening up of doors to foreign investments, saw many multinationals set up base in the country. There was a sudden awakening and the old adage ‘survival of the fittest’ started holding true. There was a need for Corporates to train and motivate their people in order to be able to produce world class products and services. Our products are designed to motivate people at work so that they are able to continue giving their best. Whilst we dealt largely with Corporates and Training Institutes, our aim is to reach our products to schools hospitals and medical centres and homes. Show less
