    • Helix Leisure

      Feb 2016 - Apr 2016
      Game Developer

During my internship at Helix Leisure, I work together with a course-mate (3D artist) on a game prototype that was made in Unity. The game was intended for kids and to be played with on a specialised arcade machine, so we had to keep in mind certain restrictions for the art and the controls. It was a really enriching experience as I learn what is agile development and what it is like to be part of an actual game development team and having daily stand-ups. I am grateful to be able to receive close guidance from project managers and senior game developers that worked in the games industry for many years. Show less

    • Activate Interactive Pte Ltd

      May 2019 - Aug 2019
      Software Engineer

During my internship at Activate, I work on the frontend development of the iOS and Android mobile apps for Republic Polytechnic (RP) under the guidance of a mentor. I picked up Javascript and the React Native framework as part of my job scope as well as learning how to be part of a development team during production. This was also my first time experiencing how the waterfall production model works in a real-life setting, from meeting clients to drafting out the specs document.I also learn about Robotic Process Automation (RPA) using a software called UiPath. My tasks were to research and design a workflow to help the finance department automate their manual data entries for the company accounts. Show less

In this internship, I got the opportunity to work with the Blockchain team in DBS and learn about full-stack development in a professional and security-first environment. For backend development, I help develop multiple micro-services for the Digital Assets Custody Application using Spring Boot and Java. I was also part of the testing team for the Digital Exchange application. For frontend development, I was tasked to build a dashboard admin web application for a DBS Metaverse event. This web app was responsible for admin functionality during the event such as onboarding, awarding points, and trigger events and was built using Angular. Authentication was implemented using Spring Security, and AWS Cognito. I also learnt how to deploy using Jenkins and AWS EC2 instances. Show less

    • DBS Bank

      Jul 2023 - now
      Graduate Associate (SEED)

Currently part of the Digital Process platform in the Institutional Banking Group Technology branch at DBS.As part of the Intelligent Business Process Management (IBPM) team, I am currently working on an automation tool to migrate (from a legacy system) and configure workflows that usually takes a single developer 1-2 hours on average, to less than 5 mins. The tool helps to extract and map data from the source database, connect to the destination database and generate prepared safe SQL statements to add, update or delete configuration data. After a workflow is fully configured, the tool will also generate another set of SQL statements for CI/CD into production. This tool greatly reduced human errors, ensured data consistency and most importantly, saved my team of 7 developers more than 5 months of work, with automated batch processing by streamlining the configuration of 1100+ highly customised workflows so we can spend more effort in user testing.
