  Casual Staff/Superviser at the Echo Arena, Liverpool

  I supported the day to day catering operations at the Echo Arena and BT Convention Centre. This ranged from serving light refreshments, to waitressing during full meals, or being on a till at the arena often dealing with serving alcohol. All of this meant I came face to face with the public every time I worked, I had to always be helpful to them, and make their experience go as well as possible, namely through listening to my managers while having the confidence to use my own initiative.

  The Street Team’s main purpose is to inform people about the shows happening at the 3 venues at O2 Academy Leicester. This included distributing flyers outside venues or putting posters up around town as well as spreading the word online. I also, occasionally, operated the box office and cloakroom. The latter roles involve handling money, and taking responsibility for the belongings of others. All aspects of the role had me interacting with the public, whether it be students, other attenders of events, or owners of places we wished to display our posters and flyers in. Show less

My tasks are around providing actionable insight and collateral for the business to use. To be successful, I undertake market research, buyer persona interviews and competitor analysis. The area of the business I specifically market covers our Cloud & IT Services offerings, and previously our automated Document Management product. Being able to perform my role for these areas has led to a lot of learning for me since I began working at Advanced, as I had little relevant knowledge for either area before I started. I also support the running of social media accounts related to our market areas including Twitter and LinkedIn. This includes me running reports to assess engagement and working closely with our Digital and Field Marketing teams to develop strategies to improve the engagement levels. Currently, I am liaising with company-wide stakeholders to manage and co-ordinate the implementation of the social media training programme that I have developed. To perform my role I utilise Microsoft Office, Marketo, SproutSocial, the Adobe suite and SalesForce. I enjoy seeing what I have created become part of effective campaigns, supporting the work of other teams and helping them in their day-to-day work. As I have developed in the role, I have found myself not only providing insight, but also instigating activity across campaigns and taking a more prevalent role in campaign activity. Show less

  Independent Travel Agent

  Since August 2020, I have trained and qualified as an Independent Travel Agent. I am certified by ABTA and work with partners including TUI, Olympic, Do Something Different, Major, Contiki and many more. Through this, I am able to book holidays, activities and days out for myself and others. I can also guide others through the training themselves. This was something I chose to do as a way to maximise my passion for travel. I have been blessed to go to a new place, and most times abroad, every year of my life. I believe that making the effort to go and meet the world brings about unrivalable experiences, encouraging us to understand others in a way that can truly change lives. Nominated for a Deputy Director's Commendation, "For [my] professionalism, enthusiasm and commitment to drive improvements across the NCCU and wider Team Cyber UK network."
