  Involved in laboratory analytical work, supervisory and administrative activities. Provided training and devised and implemented research activities related to laboratory medicineAs part time lecturer planned and implemented training programmes for laboratory staff at the University of Mauritius ( from 1978 to 2000) As Head of Biochemistry from 1984 to 2007, directed the biochemistry services and coordinated research and surveys in collaboration with World Health Organization and in particular ref centres in UK, Australia and Finland, with the International Atomic Energy Agency. Particular areas involved were noncommunicable diseases and screening programmes in Mauritian population.Was closely associated with establishing quality assurance programmes in that field and was trained as technical assessor and lead assessor by the South African National Accreditation Services and SADC accreditation Services under the aegis of Mauritius Accreditation Services, in particular reference to ISO Standards kinked with medical laboratory.Has also served as an Assessor to Civil Service Arbitration Tribunal (Mauritius) from 1982 to 2000 and has been a member of Advisory Committee/Council of the Mauritius Standard Bureau and of the University of Mauritius.During the career period , has been recipient of the Prime Minister Award on Quality Assurance ( 1993) and the President Distinguished Service Medal in field of Medicine ( 2008) Voir moins
