  As Desktop Services Manager I am responsible for the creation and maintenance of the workstation builds together with the deployment and support of the desktop application portfolio. My team also owns and supports the SCCM environment. My primary responsibilities to date have been:• Taking over ownership of the Windows 7 and 10 builds. Introducing new technologies and improving the patching process.• Cataloguing the application portfolio and improving the use of SCCM as a deployment tool.• Providing 3rd level support for a wide range of desktop applications. The following are some of the projects I have been involved with:• Windows 10 – replacing the majority of the BDO laptop fleet and upgrading all laptops to the new build. Management of the build process including working with Microsoft and external teams. Categorising the application portfolio and testing compatibility with Windows 10.• Patching - improving the deployment of the monthly Windows and Office patches using the PowerShell Deployment Tool Kit within SCCM. • Deploying the replacement audit tool to approximately 2500 users. Working closely with in house teams and other BDO companies to deliver the application effectively.• Working with the team delivering the Windows 10 VDI environment including application deployment through SCCM and compatibility testing.• Merger - following the merger with Moore Stephens LLP, adopting new applications into the portfolio and onboarding the new users within the BDO environment.
