  Inspecting officer ( Watch Manager) in Protection Department involving inspections under the Fire safety Order, Planning and Building Regulations consultation, post- fire inspection support of operational crews in risk planning. Multi agency work with LA Building Control and LA Planning as well as Safety Advisory Group, LA care group, hospitals and others. The role culminated in running a Protection office which involved management of staff and targets. Particular interest in heritage fire safety having been based in an area with a large heritage portfolio. Including liaison with HSE and EA and with industry groups such as the Chemical Industry Association and also Local Authority Resilience Forum. Development of emergency response plans for COMAH sites as part of the Fire Service Site Specific Risk Information process. Work with EA and sites under the Fire Prevention Plans element of permitting process for waste sites. Application of DSEAR to the Fire Safety Order and in the assessment of the adequacy of protective measures in process areas. Show less
