Jan 2021 - nowHaving 3 direct reports that are band 1 managers. I am second line manager for 60 FTE, made up of Engineers, Advanced Engineers, Senior Engineers and Supervisors. Coving all NE service, cable recovery, spine build, desk team and a build.Managing a desk team made up of 1 manager and 6 supervisors covering the whole NE region. Allocating repair work, managing service breakdowns, working with the build teams on commissioning and FTTP delivery glides.Overseeing the vetting and allocating fibre installation and all other desk admin jobs. Ensuring the team holds the build managers to account for delivery as well as our contractors across Morrisons.I have 2 managers responsible for all spine build across the North East enabling 70000 THP delivery per year. Putting over 100 000 kilometres of spine, 300+ AGGs and several over blows. Ensuring teams are working safely and compliant, working to CDM and all Openreach standards. Accountable for delivering all spine, my team is vital in the whole fibre build. If my team do not have AGGs lit on time it could delay the whole build. To date we have never missed AGG delivery and often have 4-6 week buffer.Overseeing a fibre build at Coxhoe worth 4000 THP, responsible for full build from spine to PON delivery. Ensuring THP is built according to delivery glide to enable the overall Openreach delivery targets to be hit.Responsible for the cable recovery for the whole NE region, ensuring we recover at least 2 ton of cable each month to hit cost saving targets. To date I am averaging around 3.5 ton per month.Overseeing all complex repair work both copper and FTTP. Responding to major service breakdowns, ensuring we recover service ASAP. On average all fibre faults are allocated within 24hrs and all major breakdowns with copper cable 2000+ pairs are done within 3 days even with CIVIL’s and TM required. Digging, carrying out tree cutting, pulling in large cables, deploying two-way traffic management, working overhead, in manholes and carrying out CIVIL’s avoidance work. NRSW units 1, 10-14 & 16/LA, S1-S5 & S7.Integrating fibre breakdowns into the allocation system, significantly reducing dwell.Training and equipping a team once copper only to deal with complex fibre repair and fibre builds.Ensuring the team has the tools and training required to complete the job safely and to a very high standard.Ensuring CDM regulations are always followed. Working under intense pressure when dealing with storm conditions or peak demands in customer orders.Continuously exceed expectations when it comes to safety goals and targets. Reporting to director level across the U.K.Working on various work packages and system changes, successfully rolled out across national teams.Reporting weekly to Chief Engineering director and managing stakeholder relationships across contractor teams and internal teams.Implementing and supporting effective working practices and systems as required to improve work scope delivery.Leading by example and maintained high standards within a hugely diverse environment.Working co-operatively with colleagues, being receptive to change and can embrace new ways of working and supporting overtime requests as required by the business needs.Working flexibly to accommodate the needs of the business, working long hours and taking on additional responsibilities.
