  HTA Architects is a design-led housing and regeneration consultancy. My role at the company was a 'Project Assistant' for 3 design leaders, and as such worked on different projects and a range of aspects with in them. I also used a wide range of software, including SketchUp, InDesign, Photoshop and Mircostation, to complete the tasks given to me.Other tasks assigned to me was to organise and service meeting rooms, sort and deliver mail, send outgoing mail and reception work. During my time at HTA Architects I also attended site visits and sat in on design meetings with the client and the design team.This experience was a very valuable before starting my degree and cemented my decision to pursue a career in architecture.   Part 1 architectural assistant

  My part 1 placement was at Huw Thomas Architects, located in Winchester. This small practice focuses on dealing with the long-term future of historic and listed buildings. Many of the projects were one-off designs for private housing, with some larger scaled housing developments, especially in Jersey.My role in these projects was to attend on site design meetings with the architect and to draw up all the drawings necessary for planning application. I was involved in all the design stages, creating 3D models of the projects in Sketchup and completing the planning applications.I was able to experience the planning process first hand and attended many of the council planning hearings.   Having completed my Part III studies becoming a qualified architect, my role and responsibilities extended to leading individual and team based projects. This includes project management, delegation, liaising with Clients and on-site project running. Responsible for the production of design and technical packages; feasibility studies and briefs, concept design and design development, planning applications, working drawings, building regulation applications, tender and production information. Successful completion of my Part III during this time.

  A medium sized practice with offices in London and Oxfordshire, with a high value project roster that extends from Scotland to Dubai. The focus is on high end residential projects where the aim is to project manage each scheme on an individual basis from concept to completion to ensure the client’s brief is met with the highest standards of performance. This approach gave me valuable experience in managing different types of projects with their own unique story’s, including listed buildings, large basements, refurbishment and oneoff new build houses. Many of these projects are produced on Revit where I wrote full NBS specifications and managed the projects on site through a traditional procurement. Show less

  A global company, centred in Helsinki, which has offices in a further 7 countries working in various industry sectors including; urban design, commerical, hospitality, civic and community, renovations of protected buildings, private - developer housing and interiors. Bringing creative ideas through diverse expertise and commitment to innovation enabling the ability to resovle specific challenges in each of the sectors of work I was involved with. My role involved working on many different international projects from the US to London to New Zealand, leading small teams and using mainly AutoCAD, Revit and Sketchup in delivering varied designs. I also was heavily involed in submitting competition work, most notably a competition in Malta where I had the opportunity to present our work the judging panel. Show less
