  Starting as the first DNB resident at the Max Cardiac Surgery department I was trained by master surgeons like Dr Anil Bhan, Dr IS Virdi, Dr SK Sinha, Dr Rajneesh Malhotra. I passed my Diplomate of National Board examinations and was appointed as Consultant swiftly rising to the post of Senior Consultant running my independent Operation Theatre. I was the youngest cardiac surgical consultant in Max Healthcare to run an independent cardiac OT. I was instrumental in developing the Max Cardiac Surgical Database Project and my thesis topic of "Euroscore II as a prospective risk assesment tool" was the nucleus of the database project.   My team set up a cutting edge cardiac surgical service with end to end solutions for complex adult and congenital heart problems. We initiated a highly successful ECMO program, the first in the region with over 10 patients salvaged on adult ECMO including the first in the region for Celfos poisoning. Distance retrieval from Agra was successfully undertaken during this period. Longest successful ECMO run was 38 days. The team undertook the regions first successful TEVAR for abdominal aortic aneurysms building up a series of 8 succesful cases over the last 10 months of our tenure. My team was empanelled with the Afghan Red Crescent Society for undertaking Congenital Heart Surgeries for children from Afghanistan, having done more than 100 such SOS surgeries. Show less

  Our team set up the most comprehensive cardio thoracic and vascular service in this part of ghd National Capital Region undertaking all forms of advanced adult and congenital heart surgeries. We expanded our portfolio by undertaking catheter based therapies for structural heart diseases like aortic valve disease- TAVR and mitral valve diseases. Me and my colleague Dr Neerav Bansal got the coveted Medtronic certification for TAVR skills. Over the course of our tenure we undertook multiple complex endovascular aneurysm repairs - TEVAR, VATS and the highest number of MICS heart surgeries in the region. We were the regions foremost vascular surgical services providing all forms of interventional and surgical therapies like complex angioplasties, bypass surgeries, endovascular thrombodissection for DVT and complex dialysis access repairs and formations in addition to the large number of routine CBG and valve operations. Our team was empanelled by the Ministry of Health Iraq as a tertiary care centre for children with congenital heart defects from the various provinces of the Republic of Iraq.   I have been appointed as Professor and Head of the Department of Cardio Vascular Surgery at ESIC Medical College, Faridabad- a 600 bedded superspeciality hospital with both undergraduate and post graduate medical students. The hospital is the apex referral centre for ESIC beneficiaries from the states of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan adjoining geographically. The Department conducts OPD's and educational programs for both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
