  BP-funded summer research project. Explored the current state of asphaltene science and simulated the behaviour of a synthetic molecular model in different solvent and concentration conditions. Learnt how to operate the software package GROMACS and made decisions on which simulations to run. Liaised frequently with my supervisor and PhD students. Produced a report and poster and presented my findings to the department and a representative from BP. Was awarded a prize for best undergraduate poster. Show less

  IAESTE placement where I was in charge of a process simulation project using a series of hydrogenation reactions to convert a biomass material into a valuable specialty chemical. Challenges included accurately modelling the complex reaction network and finding a suitable separation method to isolate the main product from the many byproducts.Actively participated in and successfully graduated from the Learning through Participation and Achievement (LePA) programme run by IAESTE China.

  Part of the Hardware Trials and Standards team, with responsibilities for working on low-carbon energy systems and infrastructure demonstration projects supporting a transition to low emission vehicles. Current focus on chargepoint auditing, wireless charging and hydrogen infrastructure.Contributed to a public report relating to researching potential Vehicle-to-Grid customer propositions and business models for a project funded by Innovate UK. This involved hosting consumer focus groups, interviewing existing European V2G projects and further disseminating the report findings by co-presenting on a well-attended webinar. Supported a well known retailer with their electric vehicle infrastructure strategy and procurement process. Performed a market analysis, conducted due diligence interviews of suppliers and offered impartial recommendations. Also presented to key stakeholders at their head office.Runner up in the inaugural Cenex Table Tennis Cup. Show less
