  As the Secretary General of the Student Representative Council (SRC) at the University of the Western Cape, my role involved a blend of leadership, administration, and representation, all aimed at advocating for the student body and ensuring the SRC's effective operation.I was responsible for leading discussions, setting agendas, and coordinating the activities of SRC members to ensure that student initiatives progressed as planned. My administrative duties included managing official SRC documentation, organizing meetings, and maintaining detailed records.A key aspect of my role was representing students in various university forums and committees. I served on the Registration Committee, Institutional Forum, Finance Committee, Senate, and Council. In these roles, I actively advocated for student interests, participated in decision-making processes, and contributed to discussions on institutional policies, academic standards, and financial management.I also played a central role in communication, ensuring that the student body was informed about SRC activities and decisions. This involved utilizing various communication channels and facilitating dialogue between the SRC and student groups.Event planning and execution were significant aspects of my duties, where I collaborated with other SRC members to organize student events and initiatives that aligned with the SRC’s goals. Additionally, I was involved in crisis management, assisting in resolving student issues and collaborating with university officials to address urgent matters affecting the student community.Overall, my role as SRC Secretary General was crucial in ensuring that the SRC operated efficiently, that student concerns were addressed, and that I contributed to shaping key policies and decisions at the university level.
