      Visual artist

Contracted to develop and paint designs on a Children's Learning Playground at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park in Saskatchewan. The Children's Learning Playground is used during an annual culture camp for families of Indigenous foster children in Saskatchewan. I was also given the task of painting a ceremonial tipi for the camp under the supervision of artist Lionel Peyachew. This was a very rewarding project to be a part of. I hope the children who attend the camp are able to make strong connections to their cultural roots and grow up to be proud of who they are. Show less

    • University of regina

      Sept 2017 - Apr 2019

I have been assisting a professor with research on indigenous plants for a public art commission. Under the supervision of the curator/preparator, I conducted research on the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis artists and their works in the President's Art Collection. I wrote short essays on the artists and works that will be on display throughout the university. My goal was to write accurate, informative, and interesting texts that captivate and educate viewers so that they connect with the works on a deeper level.

At the Hallowe'en Haunt event, I led a community project that resulted in a Métis beadwork style quilt-like collage of paper halloween shapes on a canvas background. In my own time I worked on completing a Hudson's Bay blanket capote.
