   Developing system in SAS to track Maersk containers and calculate number of days each container spends in a specific state (empty on vessel, full on vessel, etc). The information is extracted from an Oracle table, the transformation takes place in SAS and the resulting data is then loaded into another Oracle table for business use (Business Objects is used as a reporting tool). The system currently in production is run twice monthly and runs for approximately 60 hours. The new system must run daily for as close to 4 hours as possible.   SAS Developer (April 2007 – Dec 2007) Maintain and support daily, weekly and monthly updates to the Enterprise Data Warehouse. This involves being on standby and answering calls when problems arise and fixing these problems by reviewing the relevant SAS log and applying the appropriate method to solve the problem. Investigating problems logged by the client and users and making the appropriate changes to the SAS code. Applications used: SAS V8 (on NT).SAS Developer (January 2008 – April 2008) The aim of this BI project was to consolidate the MI of 2 departments that merged into one. In my role as developer, I was responsible for the ETL process (extracting relevant data from existing SAS datasets, applying required business logic to calculate and aggregate the data and loading the resulting fact and dimension tables into Oracle tables). Applications used: SAS V9 (on UNIX) / OracleTechnical Lead (SAS) / Solutions Designer (April 2008 – Oct 2009) I was involved in various ETL projects (feeding into data warehouse) as solutions designer and technical lead to the SAS developers. In order to gain experience as solutions designer, I worked with a mentor in that role, while also being mentored in the theory of data warehousing.
