As luck would have it, numerous and varied opportunities are open for me at this time: I'd be a danged fool not to take advantage of them. The problem is sorting them out and using the right ones as wisely as possible. I figure getting a business plan, a mentor, and some well-taught classes (which, by the way, are all free) will give me a solid foundation upon which to build. At the same time, I'm doing my research, a few workshops, and networking: also working on my foundation. Show less

      Odd jobber and nurseryman

Self-employed, I worked at various odd jobs from dog-sitting to painting houses to yard-work. I cleaned gutters, windows, houses, and horse manure. My motto was "If I can't do it, I know someone who can!" When I couldn't get the job done, I had friends and acquaintances who could fix or do just about anything.I was also an avid scrounger, selling hardware and salvage out of my barn in Southern Pines. I owned and operated 2 plant nurseries, the second of which was built entirely from scratch (and scrounge). Some landscaping, including the condominiums at "The Pit" golf course in Pinehurst.
