      Sept 2016 - Dec 2018
      Family Support Worker

My focus at Parc was to work with individuals in prison and their families to maintain a strong relationship during imprisonment. This was to try and reduce the likelihood of re-offending for themselves and reduce the impact of imprisonment on their families. This required a strong level of communication and empathetic skills. I had to influence and encourage individuals to try and keep in contact with family members through a variety of different means and advising and supporting them through these contact sessions. We would also provide advice and guidance to individuals in readiness for release and whilst they were on probation. Other duties included, taking incoming calls from offenders’ families and dealing with their concerns, providing them emotional support and immediately actioning any concerning statements made.Reason for leaving: Time out to go travelling Show less
