      May 1998 - Jan 2000
      Ergonomist

Fresh out of graduate school, I was able to apply research and ergonomic principles to the assembly line at the Oakville Assembly Plant. We proudly built the Windstar, and I was able to help reduce exposure to MSD hazards most notably as we transitioned to a family vehicle with two sliding doors.

    • General Motors

      Jan 2000 - Oct 2001
      Ergonomic Design Engineer

This was a super unique experience. I was able to head down to Spring Hill, Tennessee (Saturn Plant), then Troy, Michigan (Design Engineering), and finally the Oshawa Assembly complex (Truck Plant). The goal of this tour was to gather reactive MSD experience, and build controls into new vehicle lines to avoid future occurrences of these types of injuries.

    • BOMBARDIER

      Oct 2001 - Jan 2006
      Ergonomist

For almost five years, I worked with aircraft assemblers to help alleviate the root causes of hand/arm vibration syndrome, not to mention all of the awkward postures associated with working inside and around a fuselage.

    • Infrastructure Health & Safety Association (IHSA)

      Jan 2006 - Dec 2019
      Manager, Strategic Programs

This was one of those jobs that never felt like work. I was able to travel the province (it's beautiful by the way), help people work in safer jobs, and most notably help contractors get work. I was fortunate enough to manage the Certificate of Recognition program (COR), which is a nationally recognized health and safety standard in the construction industry.

    • Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)

      Jan 2020 - Aug 2022
      Manager, Provider Effectiveness

I was part of an amazing team that launched a new incentive program for employers in November 2019. The health and safety excellence program was designed to support whatever your business goals are, and provide rebates on your insurance premiums along the way.
