Worked the till interacting with customers first hand whilst also ensuring that there is never more than company specified amount in the till at any point. Showcasing my resilience as I had to adopt and deal with different customer’s different needs on the spot by trying to converse with them in the language they were most confident in.I was also enlisted the role of categorising the back stock into what needs replenishment and what is already full. Additionally, ensured the new stock was put out on the main floor for sale before the morning/lunch period ended efficiently.Helped count and verify the daily cash earnings from the day. Show less

Was part of the cost management team under transformation where i:Calculated current balance sheet provisions using information from optimus and various reports, providing a working file that ensured ease of tracking going forward. Updating the current position against our provisions against the full year plan; Then liaising with the balance sheet team to reconcile our position against theirs, highlighting the risk or opportunities.Prepared spreadsheets indicating the year to date earnings from CIGA charges. Projected future earnings on various variables (e.g. FTE) using respective lags, explaining the trend and irregular spikes/dips to the relevant stakeholders.Volunteered to work in a branch experiencing the first point of contact for customer. In doing so spotted potential cost saves that my team could capitalise on.Took part in the annual Hackathon, created a Chatbot using bot engine named Eddie. Pitched the brand and product whose main purpose is to help and provide advice customers through life’s big moments, to a panel of senior leads in their respective fields. Fortunately, winning the competition and now pursing it to be implemented. Show less

Learnt about and participated in the different roles in Sales and Trading. From being in Sales pushing new ideas and persuading clients to invest in certain capital to participating as a sales trader with a more execution-based roles aiming to maximise commission revenues. Then being a Hedge fund trading making more long-term investments in the available stocks. Experienced how the Order-Driven and Quote-Driven market structures work, spotting that Order-Driven markets tend to be more transparent with ease of trade, with exposure being reduced via hedging.Acquired knowledge on how banks manage risk on products of the respective markets. From using inter-dealer brokers to find parties interested in the other side of the trade to amending quotes, making them more attractive to clients. On Order Driven products trying to break up the order size, mitigating the risk from large spreads. Witnessed the ‘FAT’ fingers effect when a large amount of the AMZN stock was sold in one order dropping the price by over 5% at one point. Then seeing the simulated market reaction to that, embodying the real-life market space. Show less
