  My role involved developing a new data warehouse that was constructed using a combination of custom configured BIML scripts and stored procedures to generate a series of SSIS packages. I was also heavily involved in architecting the continuous integration and automated deployment process which uses a combination of Visual Studio Online, Jenkins and Redgate's DLM Automation Suite.My day to day responsibilities were as follows:- Supporting both the newly architected data warehouse and the legacy data warehouse during the switch over. This included query optimization, maintenance planning (including backups and restores), resource management including disc space and filegroup management and also administering access rights to the warehouse.- Building and automating financial reports using SSRS and SSAS, to deliver key financial information to the business.- Adding new features to the warehouse, including custom scripts to send files via SFTP and Amazon S3 and integrating feeds from other data sources such as Oracle, MySQL and Flat Files.- Provide a training function to members of staff on new procedures and processes within the warehouse.- Mentoring our Junior Developers and establishing a training plan for them to progress and improve their database development skills.- Advising our analytics team on best practices for interacting with our warehouse using SPSS and PowerBI.- Production of automation scripts using powershell and T-SQL to handle day to day data reconciliation and server management procedures such as disc space management.
