      14-day internship in partnership with the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council and Portland State University. Part of research measuring the success of a restoration scheme on Whychus Creek, Bend, OR. Worked in teams to undertake primary data collection using a series of methods such as wetland ad stream quality evaluation, morphological surveys, sediment transects and biotic surveys. Completed work efficiently one day ahead of schedule to an excellent standard.

      Alongside my Masters degree, in my final year at university, I was president of the university Futsal Club. The club has 80 active members and players, representing the university at an Inter-Mural, BUCS and National League Level. The year involved many challenges in my role, and was a real test of my skills but was valuable experience which will I believe has aided my transition into the working world.

      Co-ordinating communications for the government’s Environmental Land Management schemes (ELMs).Pulling on all communications levers, I am looking to drive scheme uptake amongst farmers by showcasing the success of the schemes in boosting farm business resilience and delivering environmental outcomes, all while driving sustainable food production. Farming is going through the biggest change in a generation.For food and farming to be resilient and sustainable, farming and nature must go hand in hand.Together with farmers and land managers, government is designing schemes that work for farm businesses, food production and the environment.As part of the Future Farming Team at Defra, I communicate information on future funding schemes available to British farmers 🇬🇧🧑‍🌾
