John’s primary role was to focus on inefficient back office processes and find methods to drive down processing costs. He also spent a short time maintaining software code and being included in the on call support rotation. Solutions sometimes involved automation, while other solutions involved manual workflow improvements and elimination of unnecessary steps.   Software business requirements gathering, project management, software quality assurance, second level support. Worked on a multitude of projects including building a SDLC that was absent when I arrived. This greatly stabilized the platform and ensured higher quality product releases. Started on a team of 6 and we helped build the platform from a US only POS with 100 locations to a POS used in the US, Canada, UK and Germany and 1,000+ locations. Oversaw the implementation of testing automation to ensure more frequent releases. Lead the implementation of a real-time dealer inventory reporting system that allowed Trek Bicycle corporate to understand current stock levels at dealers in order to better forecast. Show less

  Product owner, PM/Scrum Master/Analyst focused on integrating the Ed-Fi standard framework (API and data standard) to enable more efficient data collection of required state and federal reporting from Public school districts in Wisconsin. John led and implemented a strategic plan to migrate the Department of Public Instruction into a new era by eliminating legacy state and federal reporting systems. He led a team of developers, analysts and a vendor integration manager. The team integrated multiple school district vendor systems with Wisconsin DPI leveraging the Ed-Fi API ODS technology stack (branded as WISEdata Ed-Fi in Wisconsin). Show less

  Developing and leading integration strategies to better connect multiple Community Brands applications to perform as a comprehensive suite. Additionally, there are efforts occurring to determine 3rd party integration priorities within the Non-Profit vertical. Lead an initiative to integrate three non-profit applications via net new APIs and by leveraging a Community Brands UK data orchestration solution. This project has reduced administrative overhead for non-profit organizations and provided a better full suite product experience for end users. Leading a project to integrate non-profit fundraising platforms to a Community Brands accounting platform application. This will leverage multiple APIs and a new orchestration platform for data movement. Show less
