  Researched precipitation, humidity, wind speed, and temperature records and prepared a report characterizing predictive fire weather patterns at the Nebraska National Forest. Monitored vegetation of wildfire plots, gathered plant density cover data, and identified species. Employed standardized protocols for inventorying pre- and post-fire conditions using FIREMON. Handcrafted a custom-built portable quadrat for the fire ecologist for use in the field. Transcribed handwritten historic Fort Robinson documents from 1893 for computer indexing. Taught a graduate student to accurately identify local vegetation species within burn pile sites. Participated in a wildland firefighting crew. Show less
