    • Henry Ford Health System

      Jan 2005 - Apr 2020

As the founder and director of the Henry Ford Vein Center, I established office-based vein procedures at HFHS. Over the past decade, I optimized our venous service line with an impressive year-over-year growth over the past decade by HFMG vascular specialists. I improved the quality and lowered the costs of the venous service line with my involvement in the national Vascular Quality Initiative Venous Disease Working Group and won the John R. Pfeiffer Award for Best Venous Paper from the Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society. As the HFH site Principal Investigator for the multicenter ATTRACT Study - Acute Venous Thrombosis: Thrombus Removal with Adjunctive Catheter-Directed Thrombolysis sponsored by the National Institutes of Health/Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, I lead our HFH research team as a top 10 U.S. recruitment site for the NIH study. Show less As a leader in vascular surgery, I focus on further development of successful clinical and academic components in all areas of Vascular Surgery. I am board certified in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. As the team leader at HFMG Physician Leadership Institute, I work with my team to design and implement a multidisciplinary venous disease program at HFHS. I aim to grow the vascular surgery practice via inpatient consultations, outpatient referrals, and telemedicine initiatives through health system integration. Show less I am board-certified as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and a Registered Physicians' Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography(ARDMS). As the Medical Director of Clinical Vascular Laboratory, I supervise one of the largest vascular laboratories in the U.S at multiple satellite locations--Detroit, Cottage, Fairlane, Sterling Heights--and orchestrate the opening of vascular lab at West Bloomfield. We now have 17 vascular technologists at HFH vascular lab and its satellites. During my tenure, our IAC-accredited vascular laboratories have more than doubled our annual volume from 8000 to over 20,000 non-invasive vascular studies. To improve our quality initiative, I presented our research projects at national meetings to promote the Choosing Wisely Campaign and minimize unnecessary vascular lab testing. Show less
