  I promoted to sergeant in 1999 and worked a variety of assignments. As a field sergeant, I was responsible for supervising police officers as they answered radio calls, made arrests, engaged in tactical operations, etc. I conducted audits and inspections, wrote reports, and conducted administrative investigations (such as use of force investigations, complaint investigations and pursuit investigations). I was also an adjutant, an aide, an auditor, a gang unit supervisor, an assistant watch commander, the assistant officer-in-charge of a section, and a training coordinator. Show less

  The City of Los Angeles’ RUN HIDE FIGHT Program is a collaborative effort between the private and public sectors made up of sworn and civilian instructors who volunteer to teach organizations about active shooter prevention and survival. This training is offered at no cost to any organization that seeks it.
