      Working in 4-person team, built corrugated Westeel grain bins on location for producers across Northwestern Manitoba. Operated power tools in confined and elevated spaces for efficient and safe construction of bins. Followed appropriate safety protocols to ensure safety of both self and the team.

      Grown, maintained, and collected data on experimental InVigor Canola plots over 3 consecutive years of 4-5-month summer work terms.Operated small-plot machinery over the course of the growing season (cultivating, seeding, spraying, swathing, harvesting). Completed data entry on plots regarding plant density, vigor, flowering, height, and maturity. Applied pesticides to control weeds, disease, and insects when required. Worked in a 2-9 person team to efficiently complete seasonal tasks. Trained students in equipment operation and data collection, and delegated appropriate tasks. Managed up to 8 casual laborers during harvest season and motivated individuals during challenging conditions. Also set-up, maintained, and surveyed Blackleg, Sclerotinia pathogen nursery plots to evaluate disease resistance across Manitoba. Show less
