      Role: Mechanical fitter/TechnicianI served my mechanical fitting apprenticeship at PD Teesport in which I completed successfully. I also completed my HNC in mechanical engineering. This is where I leant how to work successfully in a team and also to communicate with all levels of management efficiently. My Daily duties included:- mechanical installation, maintenance and inspections- testing and repairs of hydraulic and pneumatic systems- fault finding and repairs on heavy machinery- working to very strict safety procedures which include permit to work, tool box talks, isolation, risk assessments and safe systems of work- involved in daily tool box talks, giving them and receiving them - servicing and repairs of Gottwald mobile harbor crane, ship to shore gantry cranes, road tyre gantry cranes, overhead cranes, forklift trucks and other specialized dock equipment and machinery to the highest standard - working in a team to successfully keep the busy port operational 24/7- servicing and repairing various size Cummings and Mann engines Show less

      Currently working on the Sydney trains TTU (Tangara technology upgrade) phase 1 train upgrade. The scope of the project includes replacing the obsolescent Train Monitoring System (TMS) with a new Train Operating System (TOS), driver’s desk modifications to accommodate the TOS, Automatic Train Protection (ATP) and Digital Train Radio System (DRTS) equipment, providing a Train Communications Network and an improved PA/intercom system.The Sydney trains TTU project is the most successful project in New South Wales currently running under budget and a average of 3-4 train sets completed weekly at the Hornsby maintenance centre. This project will reduce issues with the day to day use of the 445 strong Tangara train sets. Show less
