  This was a 2 week work experience period where I aided in all administration jobs throughout the Leicestershire branch. This involved reception work, filing documentation, entering information into computer databases and meetings with the onsite veterinarians.

  This involved serving 3 course meals throughout the restaurant and cleaning down tables between sittings and at the end of the night. I was also responsible for plating up and serving the puddings to all of the customers. This job involved a high amount of customer service and public communication as it was a family owned business and prided itself on it's friendliness and good service.

  This job involved serving customers, handling money, sotcking shelves and stock checking. It also included baking off food items throughout the day and keeping all kitchen areas clean and tidy.

  I was responsible for opening up the bar, unlocking everything and turning on all the coolers and gas. I had to change barrels where necessary and constantly stock up the fridges. I was also responsible on many occasions to lock up, which involved cashing up, turning everything off and securing the building.

  My main responsibilities were cleaning out kennels and catteries, walking and feeding all the dogs twice a day, feeding the cats, preparing kennels and catteries for new arrivals, dealing with customer requests and managing the kennels when the supervisor was not present.

  I work during the summer months and other school holidays, when Aberdovey is busiest. I am responsible for any other staff members, ordering stock, opening and closing the premises and managing the business when the manager is away. The job involves public communication skills and team work to maintain good customer service and good interpersonal skills to manage a workforce.

  African Conservation Experience

  Study Tour

  This was a two week study tour based in the South African Reserve studying local wildlife and completing an unofficial Game Ranger course. This consisted of the study of local ecology, wildlife and environmental impacts in Greater Kruger National Park. Bush walks and game drives were a daily part of the course alongside 3 hour lectures on local ecology and wildlife.

  Training Assistant

  Iaway a dog training assistant at the club and helped out at classes on Wednesdays and Sundays. I helped set up equipment and assist clients with training exercises where help was needed. I have also had chance to teach training exercises to a variety of different class levels and record all clients performances in thier dog training booklets.

  This was an animal conservation trip consisting of primate and amphibian research alongside training from The Corcovado Foundation in Turtle monitoring and conservation.

  Management of the Applications team. Involves line management of a team of staff and contracted Occupational therapists. Management of assessment of disabled clients in their journey applying for an assistance dog. Also includes Strategy planning, statistical analysis, assisting in projects and budget management. I was offered a secondment into this role on an interim basis alongside continuing my Applications and Assessments manager role. Responsible for the running of the Operations department alongside the Aftercare Manager. Responsible for the line management of all operations department managers, strategy planning, collating statistics, planning and presenting at trustee meetings and subcommittees, and working within the Senior leadership team on charity objectives and strategies. Applications Assessor and Aftercare Instructor for Canine Partners This job involves training dogs up to an advanced level, teaching them general obedience and task work before placement with appropriate partners.
