  During my time working abroad as a camp counsellor, I had many duties and responsibilities. The key skills I used for this role were;* Teamwork and communication – By working with my fellow counsellors to ensure tasks are completed to a high standard, providing support to campers, teaching swimming, canoeing and paddle boarding lessons, supervising campers whilst on the speedboat.* Staying alert and being proactive – By monitoring the pool and dock whilst on lifeguard duty, supervising any activities where a camper could potentially be injured, taking attendance to ensure all campers are accounted for and successfully completing lifeguard training by the American red cross.* Being flexible and taking the initiative – By offering help to my colleagues during my free periods, taking on more duties and responsibilities during busy periods and learning new skills to help in an understaffed activity Show less
