As an infantry unit leader, I assisted commanders and operations officers in the training, deployment and tactical employment of rifle, weapons, Light Armored Reconnaissance, and anti-tank platoons/companies and infantry, and LAR battalions, and am proficient in all of the infantry weapons systems. I supervised and coordinated the preparation of personnel, weapons and equipment for movement for combat, the establishment and operation of unit command posts, the fire and movement between tactical units, the fire of supporting arms, and the unit resupply and casualty evacuation effort. As a sergeant or section leader in the rifle, scout sniper, weapons, heavy machine gun, LAR, and anti-armor platoons, I advised the platoon commander on all issues of discipline, moral and welfare. I also did temporary assignments as directed, working in law enforcement aboard the base and receiving valuable training and experience. Show less I was meritoriously promoted to Corporal in 2/5, after completing one year temporarily assigned to Military Police Company aboard MCB Camp Pendleton, Ca. I later deployed to Iraq in 2003 with 2nd Bn/5th Marines, and then went to assist in training recruits in marksmanship at Edson Range. I returned to 2/5, where I was billeted as the Platoon Guide until I volunteered for Recruiting Duty. I returned to the Fleet Marine Force in 2009, becoming the Chief Scout for Echo Company at 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, where I moved to other companies, and later became the Team Leader for the PMT (Police Mentoring Team) in our deployment to Afghanistan in 2010.
