TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. Show less

  I had this beautiful opportunity of working as an university lecturer while I was doing my full time MBA at IBA, DU. I was constantly putting myself into challenges that not only taught me how to balance multiple roles but also, at the same time, I realized how stress can be a major catalyst for growth. Maybe in the mornings I would learn about motivating employees in my HR course and I would straight away come to class as a teacher in the afternoon and see those in action. The two years has been a phenomenal experience and I am thankful for it. I have developed myself in so many areas beyond only Academic Courses. Roles: - Teaching undergraduate Civil Engineering courses. - Moderator and Adviser of Daffodil Civil Engineering Club of close to 1000 members. Selected courses:- Mechanics of Fluids : Took the course for six semesters and in more than 12 sections in two years. Along with the academic knowledge dispersion, I also focused on developing the students as better communicators. My coursework would include poster presentations, ppt presentations, projects and video presentations online. - Design of Steel Structures: I tried to follow the course outline developed by Dr. Amanat sir and late Prof. Dr. Taufiq Anwar sir, both my respected teachers of BUET - and icons in the field of structure, specially steel structure. - Design of Water Supply and Sanitation for an Industrial Village: Starting from preparing organogram, to population estimations to water demand and sanitation calculations to designing deep tubewells for underground sources of water - the course gave the students a comprehensive idea on estimating and designing water supply and sanitation for industrial villages. I have followed the course-outline prepared by late Professor Dr. Farooq Ahmed and Dr. Badruzzaman - both reputed professors of BUET and have been involved in countless projects in Bangladesh related to water supply and sanitation.   I took Statistics and Probability Course of level 3 Computer Science students at ULAB. I have tried to introduce the students to statistics as a wonderful tool that is essentially the backbone of any quantitative or qualitative research. I have walked them through from simple concepts of variance to Chi-square testing. And also tried to connect the dots between the modern AI tools and the inherent statistics behind. The course had ample practical applications with projects for Mid and Final term examinations, where students conducted statistical research based on primary data sources. The colleagues are very helpful and welcoming. Special thanks to Dean, Dr. Abdul Mottaleb Sir for the opportunity - who was also the head and a founding member of CSE, Dhaka University. Show less

The company is involved in projects over 18 countries; working with UNCDF, KFW - German state owned development bank, Neumann Kaffee Gruppe - world’s leading coffee seed producers, BRAC, Grameenphone, along with several FMCG and local companies in Bangladesh.

  I am working on resilient and inclusive infrastructure policies under National Resilience Program- a joint program by multiple agencies of UN, including UNDP, UNOPS and UN WOMEN and several ministries of Bangladesh Government. My areas of focus include: - Developing Asset Management Policies and Systems for Road and Bridge Network around Bangladesh.- Developing Failure Analysis toolkits, a forensic study and toolkit development for Infrastructure Failure around Bangladesh. - Capacity Building of Local Government Engineers and Professionals in terms of Asset Management and Failure Analysis. I am collaborating with industry experts to tailor smart and energy efficient solutions for the office operations as well as improving employee wellbeing through greening UNOPS Bangladesh. Activities include: smart building management systems, clean energy sources, eliminating single use plastics, introducing water and energy saving appliances, air quality monitoring and air purification systems, green-spacing, compliances to Green Certifications, Green SOP etc. Show less
