(Announced March 2015; awarded April 2015).

Guidebook on Local Planning for Healthy Communities (North Carolina Department of Commerce) North Carolina Chapter of the American Planning Association Oct 2014 The Guidebook on Local Planning for Healthy Communities received the 2014 North Carolina Marvin Collins Outstanding Planning Award in the Innovations in Planning Services, Education, and Public Involvement Category, from the North Carolina Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA-NC). The NC Department of Commerce was the award recipient. Weitz was project manager and author of the guidebook.

Outstanding Service to Georgia Chapter APA Membership Chapter President's Council, American Planning Association Apr 2005 The Georgia Chapter of the American Planning Association received the Karen Smith Award from the American Planning Association (Chapter President’s Council) for outstanding service to its membership. Weitz was President of the Georgia Chapter of APA at that time.

Outstanding Plan Implementation Award - Model Land Use Management Code (Georgia Department of Community Affairs) Georgia Chapter of the American Planning Association Sep 2002 Jerry Weitz & Associates, Inc. authored the Model Land Use Management Code for the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for its Alternatives to Conventional Zoning Project, which received the Outstanding Plan Implementation Award, The Georgia Department of Community Affairs was the award recipient.
