  As a Senior Software Engineer on the Microsoft Research (MSR) USFS CRADA FarmVibes.AI project, I spearheaded the transformation of a static analytic tool into a dynamic, data-driven platform that enhances tactical decision-making for fire management. By developing and deploying a Dynamic PCL model on Microsoft Azure's USGOV cloud, improving fire response strategies for the U.S. Forest Service. My responsibilities included deploying FarmVibes.AI, managing and administering the Azure environment—utilizing technologies like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Cosmos DB, Azure Key Vault, Terraform, and ARM templates—to ensure scalability, security, and efficient data management.I deployed and configured core FarmVibes.AI services, including the REST API, Orchestrator, and Worker nodes, facilitating efficient workflow management and real-time analysis critical for dynamic fire management models. Collaborating closely with MSR and fire managers and researchers, I ensured practical implementation in real-world scenarios and supported a seamless transition of the infrastructure to the USFS. Through proactive maintenance, optimization, and testing, I maintained the platform's reliability and cost-effectiveness, setting up telemetry and logging for proactive performance tracking.This project successfully demonstrated FarmVibes.AI's ability to leverage Azure's cloud infrastructure for real-time data processing, significantly enhancing decision-making capabilities for fire management through a scalable and secure platform.   Successfully optimized a production WordPress database, reducing its size by 52% (from 7.45GB to 3.59GB). Analyzed and identified the reasons behind the accelerated database growth before applying key optimizations, which included:- Increased temp and heap table sizes to 128MB, enabling larger operations entirely in memory for faster performance.- Improved sort buffer size for quicker data sorting and better handling of complex operations.- Manually optimized core tables (wp\_posts, wp\_postmeta, etc.) to reduce unnecessary data and improve efficiency.Identified and resolved key issues:- Simple Download Monitor was identified as the primary cause of database bloat, contributing significantly to unnecessary growth.- Analyzed 79 plugins, identified conflicts and redundancies, and recommended targeted removals to streamline performance.Impact of these changes:- Significant reduction in database size, improving overall manageability.- Noticeably faster website performance, particularly for data-heavy operations.- Enhanced ability to handle large volumes of content and user data efficiently.- Better scalability, preparing the site for future growth in traffic and content.In summary, these optimizations have set the foundation for improved speed, efficiency, and scalability of the WordPress site.
